The wines of Provencehave been indulged by nature, and you can find an infinite variety of wines in multiple colours throughout its great Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) wines and its Provencal grape varieties which portray a wide range of excellent vintages.
THE BANDOL VINEYARD
Exceptional sunlight allows Mourvèdre, the varietal-king of the Appellation with late maturing, to deliver its quintessence. The prestigious Bandol name includes 50 independent wine growers and 3 cooperative cellars, which spread over 8 towns of Ouest Var around Bandol.
Deep reds, excellent wines for laying down, aged in oak barrels have, given this label its fame and represent 40% of the harvest. Excellent pink-petal coloured rosés (55% of the production) can be savoured with all the freshness of their youthful prime, yet the Mourvèdre grapes give them their particular uniqueness of character and their structure. Bandol wine growers love to cause a surprise with their white wines, both of its discrete colour and its little volume (5%).

THE CÔTES DE PROVENCE WINES
This famous name includes the Var hinterland from Le Luc to Estérel range, the Mediterranean border from Hyères, all the way to Fréjus by way of Saint Tropez. Given the size of the area and the variety in soil and climate, the Côtes de Provence produce very heterogeneous wines. Rosé represents 75% of the harvest, up to 20% is red and the rarer white is but 5%.
